Description:
Based on the eternally popular classic of classics, this Air Dam (Front Spoiler) improves the aerodynamic stance of your Z in style! It is designed to increase front end downforce, and is an ideal companion to most rear spoilers. This Type-1 inspired Air Dam features functional air ducts for directing air on the front brakes to cool them under heavy braking conditions along with a recess that will accept a US-sized (6in height x 12in width) license plate for areas that require it. It is made of high quality fiberglass, and comes ready for prep and painting. It replaces the original lower valance on 70-8/74 240Z & 260Z models while keeping the turn signal openings, and installs using the original valance hardware (not included).

Non-License Recess Options:
If you do not need an air dam with the license plate recess, our ducted Type-1 air dam is mostly the same design as this air dam. See 50-1402 in Related Items for the non-recessed version, along with other similar options.

Protective Coating:
This fiberglass item has a gel coating to protect the fiberglass itself from scratches. It is not a finish coat. Your paint professional will sand down the coating prior to final priming and painting. You will notice scratching in this surface, which is exactly what it was designed to do, to take any scratching that can occur in production, transport, storage, handling, and shipping, keeping the fiberglass from being damaged. Model Restriction:
*Fits "early" 1974 260Z models produced from 9/73 through 8/74. If you have a 9/74 to 11/74, then you have the "late" 260Z and this air dam will not fit.
