Description:
The oil pick up tube (also called an oil strainer) serves two critical roles in the engine. First, it is the tube that reaches down into the oil pan so that the oil pump can draw oil up for delivery to the rest of the engine. It is also the first line of defense against debris (and the only defense for the oil pump), as it strains larger contaminants from the engine oil as they are drawn by the pump. This genuine, original equipment (OEM) tube should be inspected any time the oil pan is removed or if you are replacing an oil pump that appears to have suffered internal wear or damage.
