Description:
The oil pick up tube (also called an oil strainer) serves two critical roles in the engine. First, it is the tube that reaches down into the oil pan so that the oil pump can draw oil up for delivery to the rest of the engine. It is also the first line of defense against debris (and the only defense for the oil pump), as it strains larger contaminants from the engine oil as they are drawn by the pump. This genuine, original equipment (OEM) tube should be inspected any time the oil pan is removed or if you are replacing an oil pump that appears to have suffered internal wear or damage. *Application Note:
This is the direct replacement pick up tube for late model 300ZX-Z32's. It can be installed on earlier model engines; however, the late model gasket also needs to be installed, as the new style tube is not compatible with the early o-ring style seal. See Related Items.
