Description:
The oil pick up tube (also called an oil strainer) serves two critical roles in the engine. First, it is the tube that reaches down into the oil pan so that the oil pump can draw oil up for delivery to the rest of the engine. It is also the first line of defense against debris (and the only defense for the oil pump), as it strains larger contaminants from the engine oil as they are drawn by the pump. Early Z32 models were equipped with a pick up that requires an o-ring to seal to the oil pump; however, that version has been discontinued by Nissan (the o-ring is still available if your tube is still in good condition; see Related Items). While it does fit directly in place of the older version, the updated late style tube is not compatible with the o-ring seal. This convenient kit includes both the new style tube and proper gasket, along with all new mounting bolts.

*Note:
These parts are available separately for 07/95-96 300ZX's. If you have a late 95 or 96 and need to replace your tube, you can just choose this kit instead of purchasing the components separately.
