Z Flare Kit, Fiberglass, 70-78* 240Z-260Z-280Z

Made In And Shipped From The USA
Includes:
- (1) Fiberglass Z Flare Kit**
Description:
Fender flares are the simplest way to increase fender width if you plan to use extra wide wheels and tires, or even if you are aiming for a "stanced" look. This twist on the original Fairlady 240ZG fender flares allows for a uniquely clean appearance that will separate your Z from the rest. They are made to the same dimensions and fit in the same position as the ZG style flares, but remove the hardware recesses for an alternative style. The result is a smooth outer surface that is well suited for blending into the body lines. This version of the Z Flare Kit is made of high quality fiberglass (see Related Items for Carbon Fiber), and comes ready for prep and painting. Includes 4 position-specific flares (each corner is unique). Each flare mounts to the fender using your choice adhesive (not included; see Installation Notes).
**Kit Includes:
- (1) Front Left (Driver's) Side Z Flare
- (1) Front Right (Passenger) Side Z Flare
- (1) Rear Left (Driver's) Side Z Flare
- (1) Rear Right (Passenger) Side Z Flare
Installation Notes:
Keep in mind that the flares do have a specific position to mount on the car, making mock-up to the body before prep work or painting even more important. Masking or automotive grade double sided tape (not included) can be used to temporarily hold each flare in place during the mock up process. With the ZG bolt cutouts removed for these flares, automotive grade double sided tape, or a high strength adhesive such as E-6000, is recommended for installation (see Related Items). E-6000 adhesive is also a simple way to "blend in" to the fender if you wish.
*Fitment Note:
Like the original ZG Flares, this part is considered "race fit". Additional trimming or shaping may be needed in order to fit your specific Z-Car setup. Several factors affect the fitment of fender flares, such as how you mount and position the flares, whether you choose to trim the fenders (and how much), which itself may depend on the wheels and tires you use, and how lowered your car is. For example, you may need to trim along the outer edge of the flare for additional clearance for some wheel and tire combinations (and depending on how "tight" of a fit you want to the tire). *9/74-78 Z's may require modification around bumper ends if the factory "large" bumpers are installed. The same applies when using flares with our "fascia" style bumpers (Type-2 and Type-3 fascias & body kits). Please give us a call for more details if you have any questions.
Protective Coating:
This fiberglass item has a gel coating to protect the fiberglass itself from scratches. It is not a finish coat. Your paint professional will sand down the coating prior to final priming and painting. You will notice scratching in this surface, which is exactly what it was designed to do, to take any scratching that can occur in production, transport, storage, handling, and shipping, keeping the fiberglass from being damaged. Please let us know if you have any questions.
