The Story:
The fiberglass manufacturer who makes many of our pieces, like the BRE spoilers, is the same company that made a very limited run of these factory option spoilers back in the 70's directly for Nissan. The SCCA's rules for many racing classes are similar to this: "Aftermarket aerodynamic devices are prohibited with the exception of front air dams/spoilers and rear spoiler, unless a factory option". So to help out the racers of the day to get more downforce, Nissan had a small amount of these spoilers made to give 240Z racers even more of an edge. They were listed as Nissan factory options, so they fit into the rules of the day.

Description:
Inspired by the immense popularity of the Carbon Fiber BRE Style Spoiler, our Carbon Fiber Victory™ Rear Spoiler launched along side its fiberglass counterpart and has seen similar popularity ever since. We think it turned out just as awesome as its predecessor, and we believe you will agree when you see this great new spoiler on your early Z. Gloss finished carbon fiber pairs especially well with high gloss paints, wraps, and coatings, but also creates an interesting contrast with low and semi-gloss style finishes (such as flat, matte, and satin). The pictures don't do justice to the great, gloss look of the carbon fiber in person; they look great!
With a shared origin in racing, both the MSA Victory™ and BRE Style Spoilers capture the "resto-look" of the early 70's, with the only difference being their individual heights. The height of the BRE as measured from the back is approximately 3 7/8", while the height of the Victory™ as measured from the back is approximately 5 3/8". Both share the same smooth look on the face and back. This version of the Victory™ Spoiler is made of high quality Carbon Fiber with high gloss finish (see Related Items for Fiberglass), and comes ready to install. Like the BRE Style, it bolts on to the deck directly using 2 included bolts (simpler to install than the original BRE which requires 6), in the same position as the BRE Style, and does not interfere with the lock.
Safety Note:
ALL rear spoilers will increase downforce on the rear of the car, regardless of design. How noticeable that increased downforce is depends on both spoiler design and how the car is being driven. For standard city street driving, the increased downforce from most spoilers typically doesn't have a significant impact on handling. At highway speeds or on canyon runs, it will be more apparent, and a front spoiler is recommended, but spoiler design ultimately determines whether it is required. On the track (or otherwise at racing speeds), a properly matched front spoiler or air dam is always strongly recommended, and should be considered as mandatory (note this is especially true for taller spoilers, such as the MSA Victory™ Spoiler). Please call if you have any questions.
Fitment Note:
This spoiler is specifically designed to fit on coupe model deck lids. While it can physically be installed on 2+2 models, it does not align correctly with 2+2 deck lids and body line, and will leave gaps at the ends. 2+2 deck lids are also angled differently, so the spoiler will not have the exact same appearance as when it is installed on a coupe model.
Model Guide:
Datsun 240Z, 260Z, 280Z
Model Restriction:
For coupe (2-seater) models only. Will not fit on 2+2 (4-seater) models.
Code Guide:

Year Guide:
