Factory Rear Deck Lid Spoiler, 1986 300ZX (Z31) Coupe

Application Note:
This spoiler was factory installed on all 1986 US coupe models. If your non-US 1986 coupe model came without a spoiler, or came with a spoiler that did not have an integrated third brake light, then the 84-85 Turbo spoiler is typically the correct version for your car; see 50-1627 (OEM, currently unavailable) or 50-1623 (Fiberglass) in Related Items.

Description:
Unlike earlier (and later) models, all 1986 300ZX-Z31 models were equipped with a rear deck lid spoiler from the factory. It was used as a temporary solution to house the newly required High Mount Stop Light (Third Brake Light). This genuine, original equipment (OEM) spoiler is that same as what your car came with, now available as a replacement should your Z31 coupe require it. Includes the spoiler and hardware.
Fitment Note:
This spoiler will physically fit any 84-89 300ZX coupe model deck lid. Modification is required for use on all non-1986 coupe models due to the cutout for mounting the third brake light. Additionally, 1986 model spoilers have a smaller, more square recess for the wiper arm that does not match the straight wiper arms of all other years on top of this spoiler (requires 1986 rear wiper arm).
Spoiler Shape Note:
While this spoiler will physically fit any 84-89 Z31 coupe, it does not match the shape of non-1986 models. It has the 1986 exclusive third brake light cutout, and the rear wiper recess is shaped differently (as noted above). The overall shape of the spoiler is otherwise very similar to the 84-85 version. 1987 and later models received a taller deck lid spoiler which extends up the sides of the rear window on the ends, and has an angled slope starting at the bottom of the rear window trim that levels off once it reaches the height of the ends.
