Special Order (Estimated Price) Factory Nissan Upgraded Ignition Transistor, 9/83-89* 300ZX (Z31)

You can choose a Z-Car from your garage, or from the selections above, to filter the store or check part fitment.
Part #:12-4364
Price: $239.87
Availability: This part has been discontinued by Nissan; however, we've located a limited number of these OEM Ignition Transistors through our overseas supplier network. We are doing all we can to keep limited items like this in stock, but may not have them on hand at all times. As with all items Special Ordered from overseas, it can take some time to arrive in our inventory, and that time can vary widely for each order (Special Orders from Japan can take anywhere from 1-3 months or even longer, as an example). We'll confirm current availability after we receive your order, or you can always contact us ahead of time.

Estimated Price: Pricing on factory Nissan parts that we source directly from Japan can change with every order we receive. The price listed on this page is based on the most recent shipment from our importers, and applies to in stock inventory only. We recommend using a credit card to place your order so you won't be charged up front if we are out of stock (PayPal will charge you up front regardless). If we are out of stock, we'll let you know what the final cost will be once it is confirmed (we believe this part will be close to the same price).

Again, Nissan has discontinued this part already, and even our sources for them will eventually run out. Even if we are currently out of stock, we recommend placing an order (with a credit card as noted above) to reserve future inventory. If you know that you need this part for your Z-Car, don't delay too long or you might miss out entirely!

Description:
The last ones available!
The Ignition Transistor Module is one of the critical components of the ignition system. Its primary function is amplifying the ignition signal from the ECU, which is then connects and disconnects the ignition coil primary circuit. This process is what induces the high voltage charge in the secondary ignition coil circuit, which then sends the charge to the distributor. Original units are known to wear out from time and use, which can lead to issues ranging from rough idle and hard starting all the way to an engine that won't run at all. This genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement module is the upgraded version Nissan used to replace the factory installed version, which were more prone to failure than the later 300ZX-Z31 modules. While it is a direct replacement for 9/83-8/87 only, it can be used on all 300ZX-Z31 models**. Includes the module, adapter harness, and mounting bracket.

**7/83-8/83 Note:
While this module can be installed on all 84-89 models, very early production 1984 models received a unique transistor with a 2-wire connection instead. In order to use this upgrade on these models, wiring modifications will be required.

Comparison Image Note:
The Comparison Image on this page shows the 9/84-8/87 Ignition Transistor, which is the only version that Nissan lists as a supercession. The 9/87-89 original version has a different appearance to the earlier style, and while the later unit was improved by comparison, later models will still see benefits from this upgraded unit.
