Limited Availability: Nissan has discontinued production on these OEM Ignition Transistors globally. We have confirmed that a very limited supply is still available through our overseas supplier network. As with all items Special Ordered from overseas, it can take some time to arrive in our inventory, and that time can vary widely for each order (Special Orders from Japan can take anywhere from 1-3 months or even longer, as an example). See Ordering note below if you need to purchase one of these for your ZX.
Ordering: This part has had significant swings in pricing, availability, and arrival time to our warehouse (more than most other OEM items from Japan). Current price, availability, and shipping will need to be confirmed on an individual order basis. Please contact us directly at (714)639-2620 or Email us if you are interested in purchasing one of these. We'll give you the best estimate we can on timeframe once confirmed.
Again, Nissan has globally discontinued production this part already. When the supply runs out, they are gone forever.. As with all limited availability items, it is entirely possible for the remaining inventory to be completely sold out prior to your inquiry. If you know that you need this part for your Z-Car, don't delay too long or you might miss out entirely!

The Ignition Transistor Module is one of the critical components of the ignition system. Its primary function is amplifying the ignition signal from the ECU, which is then connects and disconnects the ignition coil primary circuit. This process is what induces the high voltage charge in the secondary ignition coil circuit, which then sends the charge to the distributor. Original units are known to wear out from time and use, which can lead to issues ranging from rough idle and hard starting all the way to an engine that won't run at all. This genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement module is the upgraded version Nissan used to replace the factory installed version, which were more prone to failure than the later 300ZX-Z31 modules. While it is a direct replacement for 9/83-8/87 only, it can be used on all 300ZX-Z31 models**. Includes the module, adapter harness, and mounting bracket.
**7/83-8/83 Note:
While this module can be installed on all 84-89 models, very early production 1984 models received a unique transistor with a 2-wire connection instead. In order to use this upgrade on these models, wiring modifications will be required.
Comparison Image Note:
The Comparison Image on this page shows the 9/84-8/87 Ignition Transistor, which is the only version that Nissan lists as a supercession. The 9/87-89 original version has a different appearance to the earlier style, and while the later unit was improved by comparison, later models will still see benefits from this upgraded unit.
