Manufacturer Typo!
These are the brand new SFI specification dampers we've been waiting for, and all is functionally perfect, more than we hoped for. They are great units! Unfortunately, the builders who made them for Professional Products, apparently have three thumbs, as the printing on the front of the Inertia Ring says "PROPROODUCTS" instead of "Pro Products"! Obviously these should be considered rare, one-of-a-kind, anomalies, collector's items, just like a coin with a double stamping. Perhaps they'll be worth millions one day, but we made a deal with the manufacturer to slash the price and offer them to you. Obviously the quantities are limited, and the next batch will certainly be corrected! So if you want to grab a piece of history (and get an awesome Crank Damper at a deeply discounted price), this is your ONLY chance! While supplies last!

Description:
These 5.2" Powerforce Plus SFI-Spec Stock/Performance/Racing Harmonic Dampers work the same as the long-discontinued Nissan Competition Performance Dampers (also known as the Euro Dampeners) in that they reduce the rotational mass of the multi-groove OE units. They are degreed to +20, and feature easy-to-read timing marks (cut grooves with white markings).
Bolt & Washer Notes:
Keep in mind that these performance dampers are designed for an extremely tight fit to prevent snout wear on the crankshaft, which is vital on performance engines. They were designed on purpose to be extremely tight to the standard crankshaft tolerance. These machining tolerances are in the thousandths of an inch. It is normal to have slight variances in the factory crankshaft mating surface diameter. While the vast majority of these dampers that we have sold in the past have matched tolerance with the crankshaft they were purchased to go with, a very small percentage have been difficult to seat due to those crankshaft variances. If that is the case with your installation, your machinist may have to do very light machining to loosen the fit slightly. This is normally a very simple procedure for your machinist/rebuilder. Be certain first that both mating surfaces are free of paint, scrapes, and burrs. Again, this has only occurred on a handful of the dampers we have sold, and in almost every case has been easily remedied by a mechanic.
Timing Marks:
As with any time you replace or even just remove your Crankshaft Pulley, installation should ALWAYS be followed by confirmation of the timing marks manually versus your engine at exact top dead center (TDC). If you are unfamiliar with this procedure we strongly recommend seeking the assistance of a mechanic. The 70-72 timing marks are the same as original, 5 marks, from 0 to 20 degrees. On this performance damper, for convenience in various custom or racing setups, the 73-74* also has 5 marks, also degreed from 0 to +20 (an added tool for the 73-74*). If you are using your original factory 73-74* degreed timing indicator, you will only be concerned with the "zero" timing mark on the damper. Be certain to review the technical sheet included with your Damper for more details about timing marks for all Z-Cars 70-83. *Note: 1974 260Z without factory A/C uses the 73 240Z timing mark. 1974 260Z with factory A/C uses the 75-78 280Z timing mark.

Bolt & Washer Notes:
- As A Stock Replacement: If you are using this damper as a stock crank pulley replacement, and you are not using the car in competition, and will keep the engine safely below factory redline, while we still recommend the reinforced bolt and washer kit, a good condition stock bolt and washer should be fine. We do recommend replacing your bolt (and washer if it has any wear) with new factory units you can find in Related Items.
- For Competition Use Or Modified Engines: If you will frequent and exceed factory redline, or will use the car in competition, the special bolt-washer kit from Related Items is required. Please call if you have any questions or don't believe you need to use the reinforced bolt/washer.
