*Update: Due to rapidly rising material costs, our supplier is no longer including grease with these bushings. A high end bearing grease, such as Mobile 1 Synthetic or Lucas Red N' Tacky, can be used to improve bushing life but is not required. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

Description:
Original plastic Shifter Pin Bushings are known for wearing out and causing sloppy shifter movement. Similar to solid bushings that Nissan Competition discontinued a long time ago, these solid Shifter Pin bushings are the answer (sold as a pair). They are manufactured from self-lubricating 932 Bearing Bronze in the USA. Once installed, the firm feel of your shifter will pleasantly surprise you. While Self-Lubricating Bronze can be used without grease, it is even more amazing with good quality grease (no longer included*). With a high end bearing grease, it is likely that these bushings will far outlast your Z. We strongly recommend replacing the transmission shift boot if yours shows any sign of tearing or other damage. The pin should also be replaced to help ensure the longest bushing life possible. Shifter Pins:
The only possibility for any significant wear would be if your shifter pin is worn or damaged in any way. We strongly recommend purchasing a new Shifter Pin to go with these bushings, which should make it the last time they will ever need to be replaced. See Related Items for a new Shifter Pin.

Application Note:
These are for original 72-81 Non-Turbo manual transmission shift levers*, or our Short Throw Shifter kits. If your transmission was modified from original and are uncertain, or you have a different shifter kit, please give us a call.

*Original Transmission Lever Type:
These bushings will only fit in "B-Style" transmission shift levers. B-Style transmissions have a horizontal pin that holds the lever in place and uses a pair of nylon bushings (which this kit replaces). If your transmission uses vertically mounted rubber bushings, this kit will not work. Likewise, if the transmission your 70-71 model matches the B-Style description, then this bushing kit will work. Please give us a call at (800)633-6331 if you aren't sure which transmission type you have prior to ordering.

Note:
If you painted or powdercoated your shift lever, that coating may need to be removed from the pin area, as these bushings are a very precise fit. Ensure that your lever is completely free of any rust or debris prior to installation. Please call if you have any questions.

Model Guide:
Datsun 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX

Model Restriction:
Fits B-Style Transmissions only (nylon pin bushings). Will not work on A-Style transmissions (rubber lever bushings).
