Description:
Has your late 280Z or 280ZX been cranking slower than normal even after driving? Are the headlights or dash lights dimmer than usual? Have you had to jump start your Z/ZX, only for it do shut off shortly afterwards? Chances are, your alternator has either started to go bad or already failed (make sure to have it tested locally to confirm!). 1977 Note:
1977 models had a split in the middle of the production year (February/March) where the alternators switched from external to internal regulators. As with many parts, this timeframe was not a hard switch, and it isn't uncommon for a late production car to still have an external regulator. If your car was produced during the 1977 model year, please inspect your car and determine whether you have an external regulator or not. Please give us a call at (714)639-2620 for assistance.

Exchange Notes:
A core exchange (or core charge) is required for this alternator. Simply install this remanufactured unit when you receive it, then ship your old alternator (core) back to us (we'll contact you with return instructions after we receive your order). Your old alternator (core) must be complete (including pulley), intact, and in rebuildable condition (no damage to electrical terminals, housing, etc.) to qualify for core refund.
