Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) sending unit is mounted in the Oil Pan toward the rear and sends the engine oil temperature signal to the dash gauge on Turbo models. If your oil temperature gauge is not showing the correct temperature (or receiving any signal at all), chances are this single wire sensor is either going bad, has a build-up of corrosion on it, or the connector itself is in need of replacement. Don't forget a replacement retaining nut (see 16-7115 in Related Items).
Temperature Sensor Note:
If your ZX hesitates significantly on acceleration, show signs of running too lean or rich, has a particularly rough idle, but only at certain temperatures, this sender would not be the cause. Oil Temperature is not used on 280ZX or early 300ZX models outside of the gauge in the dashboard. This sender does not send a signal to the ECU or impact fuel maps in any way; see 11-3455/11-3455-1 (280ZX) or 11-3451/11-3451-1 (300ZX-Z31) in Related Items instead.
