Description:
With this convenient kit you can know that you'll have the right threaded retainer to hold the correct Temperature Sending Unit into the Oil Pan Housing on your Turbo ZX. If your Turbo model oil temperature gauge is not showing the correct temperature, chances are this single wire sensor is either going bad or has a build-up of corrosion on it. Includes a new replacement Oil Temperature Sender (17-8009-1), and one genuine, original equipment (OEM) Retaining Nut (16-7115).
Temperature Sensor Note:
If your ZX hesitates significantly on acceleration, show signs of running too lean or rich, has a particularly rough idle, but only at certain temperatures, this sender would not be the cause. Oil Temperature is not used on 280ZX or early 300ZX models outside of the gauge in the dashboard. This sender does not send a signal to the ECU or impact fuel maps in any way; see 11-3455/11-3455-1 (280ZX) or 11-3451/11-3451-1 (300ZX-Z31) in Related Items instead.
Retaining Nut Plating Note:
As with many of the OEM hardware, fittings, caps, and other plated components, Nissan no longer uses the original plating that gave the Retaining Nut in this kit the "yellow zinc" appearance. Nissan has used several different types of plating on metal components over the years, and it is not uncommon to receive pieces with different appearances (especially when ordering in quantity). The current plating used on the genuine Nissan Retaining Nut in this kit gives it a more blue-silver tinted appearance. See 16-7115 for a comparison of the original style plating and the current plating.
