Includes:
Description:
A worn out Door Striker can prevent your door from closing. Wear to the striker can cause the latch on the mechanism to not fold down, which in turn causes the door to simply bounce off the body of your car (although this can also be caused by a bad mechanism). Genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement.
Door Alignment Adjustment:
Both the door hinges (at the body) and the door strikers on early Z-Cars were designed with a degree of adjustment in anticipation of repairs down the road. The door hinges can be moved vertically and front to back (but not side to side), while the strikers can be moved vertically and side to side (but not front to back) by simply loosening the mounting bolts. The door to striker alignment was designed to be adjusted using shims on both the door side of the hinges and the striker itself. Misaligned strikers or door hinges will most often cause uneven gaps around the edges of the doors, although in extreme cases they can prevent the doors from closing at all. See Related Items for the replacement striker shim; note that the door hinge shims have been discontinued by Nissan, along with the alignment stoppers.
