Part #:30-2340
Price: $34.87
Availability: This part has been discontinued by Nissan; however, we've located a limited number of these OEM Door Striker through our overseas supplier network. We are doing all we can to keep limited items like this in stock, but may not have them on hand at all times. As with all items Special Ordered from overseas, it can take some time to arrive in our inventory, and that time can vary widely for each order (Special Orders from Japan can take anywhere from 1-3 months or even longer, as an example). We'll confirm current availability after we receive your order, or you can always contact us ahead of time.
Estimated Price: Pricing on factory Nissan parts that we source directly from Japan can change with every order we receive. The price listed on this page is based on the most recent shipment from our importers, and applies to in stock inventory only. We recommend using a credit card to place your order so you won't be charged up front if we are out of stock (PayPal will charge you up front regardless). If we are out of stock, we'll let you know what the final cost will be once it is confirmed (we believe this part will be close to the same price).
Again, Nissan has discontinued this part already, and even our sources for them will eventually run out. Even if we are currently out of stock, we recommend placing an order (with a credit card as noted above) to reserve future inventory. If you know that you need this part for your Z-Car, don't delay too long or you might miss out entirely!
Includes:
Description:
A worn out Door Striker can prevent your door from closing. Wear to the striker can cause the latch on the mechanism to not fold down, which in turn causes the door to simply bounce off the body of your car (although this can also be caused by a bad mechanism). Genuine, original equipment (OEM) replacement.
Image Note:
The installed image shows a brand new door striker installed with the existing hardware, shim, and lower stopper on a 240Z. The original parts (including the original striker) had been painted over at some point in time, as seen in the image. You can paint your new striker to match your existing parts, or simply install it as is.
Door Alignment Adjustment:
Both the door hinges (at the body) and the door strikers on early Z-Cars were designed with a degree of adjustment in anticipation of repairs down the road. The door hinges can be moved vertically and front to back (but not side to side), while the strikers can be moved vertically and side to side (but not front to back) by simply loosening the mounting bolts. The door to striker alignment was designed to be adjusted using shims on both the door side of the hinges and the striker itself. Misaligned strikers or door hinges will most often cause uneven gaps around the edges of the doors, although in extreme cases they can prevent the doors from closing at all. See Related Items for the replacement striker shim; note that the door hinge shims have been discontinued by Nissan, along with the alignment stoppers.
