Description:
The factory option spoiler design (30-7296) fits the modern classic styling of the new Nissan Z® very well. We've worked with our local supplier once again on molds to produce a carbon fiber version that takes that appearance style up a notch without detracting from the original body lines. This version of the OE Style Rear Spoiler is made of high quality Carbon Fiber with high gloss finish (see Related Items for the Factory Option Painted Spoilers), and comes ready to install. It installs in the same holes as the factory spoiler and includes mounting hardware*. If you have a factory option spoiler already, this spoiler will bolt right up (see Installation Notes below).
Gloss finished carbon fiber pairs especially well with high gloss paints, wraps, and coatings, but also creates an interesting contrast with low and semi-gloss style finishes (such as flat, matte, and satin). The pictures don't do justice to the great, gloss look of the carbon fiber in person; they look great!
*Note: Adhesive tape is not pre-installed on or included with this spoiler, but is recommended for permanent installation. If you plan to use your Z® in a high speed environment (such as on the track) with this spoiler installed, installing with body strength adhesive tape, in addition to the included hardware, should be considered mandatory. See 80-8511 in Related Items.
Installation Notes:
If your Z® currently has a Rear Spoiler or Wing (other than the factory installed standard coupe spoiler), since it will need to be removed prior to installing another, there are couple of things to consider. If what you are replacing is a different style from what you are installing, it may be necessary to fill un-covered holes left from the original installation. In addition, some may have been attached with adhesives, even if they were factory or dealer installed. If that is the case, a heat gun or hair dryer should be used to allow safe removal of the old Spoiler, otherwise damage may occur to the paint. If you are unfamiliar with these procedures, professional installation is recommended. Contact us for help and recommendations.
Deck Lid Support Note:
If your Nissan Z® included a factory installed rear deck lid spoiler, and you are simply replacing it, you can simply install it without any additional components (although the deck lid "spring bumpers" may need to be replaced if the trunk doesn't properly "pop" when opened). Alternatively, if you are adding this spoiler to your Z® that did not come with one already, or if you are replacing either an aftermarket or Nissan Accessory spoiler, you may need to replace the tailgate shocks as part of the installation. Nissan specifies different deck supports for use depending on what components will be used on the car at the same time. The lists below cover which parts should be purchased along with this spoiler with specific part combinations:
- Factory Installed/Nissan Accessory, or similar sized spoiler OR Tonneau Cover:
- Factory Installed/Nissan Accessory, or similar sized spoiler WITH Tonneau Cover:
The installed image on this page is meant to be an example of the color contrast style that a dark colored spoiler (such as this Carbon Fiber piece) will create on a bright colored car. It does not show the actual carbon fiber spoiler itself, but should give a heavily simplified hint of the type of look you can expect (minus all the details that make Carbon Fiber such a good choice). Darker colors won't see as strong of a contrast, but the subtle difference with colors such as black also works really well!
