Description:
One of our best sellers ever at Motorsport is the Classic Style Fiberglass Rear Deck Spoiler. This sharp piece takes that time tested design and re-imagines it with modern high-quality carbon fiber. Gloss finished carbon fiber pairs especially well with high gloss paints, wraps, and coatings, but also creates an interesting contrast with low and semi-gloss style finishes (such as flat, matte, and satin). The pictures don't do justice to the great, gloss look of the carbon fiber in person; they look great!

The Classic Style Spoiler is true to its name, as it brings one of the most traditional of performance looks to the early Z-Cars. It has also been one of the most popular styles over the years. From full on body kits to stand alone*, this spoiler design has stood the test of time while looking great on every car it has been paired with. This version of the Classic Style Rear Spoiler is made of high quality Carbon Fiber with high gloss finish (see Related Items for Fiberglass and matte Carbon Fiber), and comes ready to install. It bolts on to the deck directly using 2 included bolts, and does not interfere with the lock.

*Safety Note:
ALL rear spoilers will increase downforce on the rear of the car, regardless of design. How noticeable that increased downforce is depends on both spoiler design and how the car is being driven. For standard city street driving, the increased downforce from most spoilers typically doesn't have a significant impact on handling. At highway speeds or on canyon runs, it will be more apparent, and a front spoiler is recommended, but spoiler design ultimately determines whether it is required. On the track (or otherwise at racing speeds), a properly matched front spoiler or air dam is always strongly recommended, and should be considered as mandatory (note this is especially true for taller spoilers, such as the MSA Victory™ Spoiler). Fitment Note:
This spoiler is specifically designed to fit on coupe model deck lids. While it can physically be installed on 2+2 models, it does not align correctly with 2+2 deck lids and body line, and will leave gaps at the ends. 2+2 deck lids are also angled differently, so the spoiler will not have the exact same appearance as when it is installed on a coupe model. Additionally, this particular spoiler extends over the rear lip of the deck lid, and would require custom modification to fit on a 2+2. We do offer a properly fitting version for your 2+2 in Fiberglass (see 50-1579 in Related Items), and a carbon fiber version may be available in the future as well (let us know if you are interested, and be sure to check back later!).

Venting Note:
All MSA Deck Lid Spoilers are made with a "closed" bottom design. Using this setup increases the overall strength of the part, which also helps with longevity. Closed bottom design spoilers require a venting port, which is located approximately in the center of the spoiler on the underside. This allows the spoiler to properly "breathe" when exposed to a variety of air conditions, including temperature differences and increased moisture (from humidity, rain, or car washes). The lack of this port would lead to both warping and even rotting of the part, so make sure not to block it off for any reason!
