While Outer Tie Rod Ends are the most commonly replaced part in the steering system, the inner tie rods are the least likely to require replacement. The pivot joint on an inner tie rod sees very little movement in most driving situations, leading to very little wear over time. In fact, the most common reason for an inner tie rod to need replacement is due to damaged threads (a failed steering rack boot allowing debris to contaminate the grease is the second most common). In many cases, the original inner tie rods are still good even on the earliest Z-Cars! If you find that the joint on your Z is showing signs of excessive wear, is seized, is otherwise damaged beyond repair, or you cannot properly align the front of your ZX, this quality replacement is the best option available. Rack & Pinion type power steering models only. Sold individually; 2 required per car.
