"But what if it was Carbon Fiber?" This is a question we regularly find ourselves asking after we release new fiberglass parts. The answer isn't always that it would be awesome, but when it is, "awesome" always ends up as an understatement. Unfortunately, these front lips have been so incredibly popular that we simply don't have them in stock long enough for our marketing team to take proper pictures! You'll have to take our word for just how good they will look on your ZX (which is where they look best anyway), at least until we do get pictures to show them off. Gloss finished carbon fiber pairs especially well with high gloss paints, wraps, and coatings, but also creates an interesting contrast with low and semi-gloss style finishes (such as flat, matte, and satin).

Whether you are restoring your special edition or simply like the look, the front lip found on the Shiro Special (SS) 300ZX has been an immensely popular styling option among late Z31 owners. It is subtle enough to fit with mostly stock body lines, yet also pairs well with more aggressive styling. Similar to the early 300ZX-Z31 rear deck lid spoilers, the original version was made using foam filled urethane, which added nearly 40 pounds to the front end! Nissan has long since discontinued both the replacement front lips and the required mounting hardware, which included several support brackets for the additional weight increase. When reproducing this lip, lightweight materials were used instead of the heavy foam & urethane, resulting in a significantly lower weight and less hardware needed to install (which also simplified installation as a bonus). This version of the SS Style Front Lip is made of high quality Carbon Fiber with high gloss finish (see Related Items for Fiberglass), and comes ready to install. Mounting studs are built into the lip, and the remaining hardware is included (drilling required for installation).
