Description:
Valve seats have two important functions in the valvetrain. First, they are used to prevent the harder metal of the valve spring from damaging the aluminum cylinder head. This also ensures the spring rests against a stable surface at all times. Second, they are used to set the initial (installed/uncompressed) load on the valve spring. For most Z-Cars that will not be raced, a single outer seat will be all that is required per spring (additional valve spring preload is typically only needed with race prepped engines). This genuine, original equipment (OEM) seat fits between the outer valve spring and the cylinder head. Sold individually; 1 required per outer valve spring (12 per car).
