Description:
Half shaft boot clamps can break for a variety of reasons, from old age to rust. Replacing your clamps will ensure that the boot is held on tight. Additionally, they are also not designed for reuse, so replacing them at the same time as the boot is ideal. This is the larger of the two genuine, original equipment (OEM) clamps, which fits on the inner (differential) side of the half shaft boot. Sold individually; 1 required per boot (2 per car). See Related Items for the outer clamp and boot.
280ZX Axle Note:
Unfortunately, accurate information regarding which years and sub-models received which axle type is no longer readily available. From the records we have (including several versions of the Nissan microfiche and parts books), all R180 differentials originally came with Half Shafts, as did early R200 models. Non-turbo coupes were supposed to use Half Shafts throughout 280ZX production (to 1983). CV Axles were officially first put into use on turbo models starting at production month 12/80. 2+2 models show them first being used at production month 9/81 (R200 only). Despite this, evidence indicates that 2+2 models may have seen them as early as 1980 production year. As always, it is best to confirm on your car directly whether you have Half Shafts or CV Axles prior to ordering.
