Parking brake shoes are used to keep your 300ZX-Z32 in place when the parking (hand) brake is applied. When the parking brake lever is pulled up, these drum brake shoes are mechanically pushed outward against the inside of the rear brake rotors. 90-96 models were the first Z-Cars to use an "internal drum" brake configuration mounted inside of the brake rotor for the parking brake, which overall simplifies the parking brake's functionality. Separating the primary brake friction component from the parking brake also means that the parking brake can hold better even when the rear brake pads/shoes are worn. If your ZX is having trouble staying in place when the hand brake is applied, this is the first component that should be inspected. *Sold as a complete set of 4 brake shoes to cover both rear parking brakes.
Note:
These parking brake shoes do not include replacement hardware. When replacing the shoes, all of the hardware should be inspected for age and wear, and replaced as needed. Please contact us for replacement options.
