Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) bolt is used to hold the connecting rod to the crankshaft. As with most applications, the factory connecting rod bolts are torque-to-yield, which causes them to stretch during installation. Due to this, rod bolts should never be reused, especially if they are older or original to the engine. Sold individually; 2 required per connecting rod (12 per car).
Note:
While the OEM connecting rod hardware is plenty strong enough for most applications, engines that will be used for racing may require something stronger. See 10-1312 for the upgraded ARP rod bolts.
240Z Note:
Nissan originally listed 8mm rod bolts for 70-71 models. We have seen some instances where later 240Z models had these same 8mm connecting rods installed from the factory. In addition, many early Z-Car owners have replaced their connecting rods with those found in later engines. We recommend measuring your rod bolts prior to ordering to confirm which size you need.
