Koyo engineers have designed some unique features into this radiator. Unlike the traditional downflow style of the OEM Datsun radiator, the Koyo performance radiator is manufactured with a robust 53mm crossflow core design, which makes it great for performance and racing, or just really hot climates. It is even strong enough to use with a V8 conversion. Included is an integrated 1/8 PT female accessory fitting located near the top inlet tube. This fitting (supplied with a threaded plug) will accept a 1/8 PT temperature sensor supplied with most aftermarket temperature gauges, or may even accept a coolant line for aftermarket turbochargers. Every Koyo All Aluminum Performance radiator is engineered in Japan, precision welded and polished by hand, and are a direct fit in the 240Z, 260Z & 280Z factory location for an easy installation. Stock S30 Radiator Caps will not work with this radiator, and Koyo does not include proper sized cap. See 16-6930 in Related Items below for the correct cap. We recommend purchasing two of part number 16-7202 (240Z lower radiator hose) for use with this radiator. One hose will connect the Water Inlet on the Timing Cover to the lower port on the radiator. The second hose will need to be trimmed to fit for the upper hose. See 16-7202 in Related Items below. 280Z Owners: the 280Z lower hose can be modified to work as the upper hose; however, this usually causes a kink to form in the hose and is not recommended. The shape of the 240Z hose makes it a much better fit. Note: There are no provisions for the stock fan shroud; however, the cooling capacity of this radiator should be more than enough to compensate for the lack of a shroud in most cases.
This radiator is designed for Manual Transmission models. A separate, external Automatic Transmission Cooler must be installed in order to use this radiator with Auto Trans. Models. See 17-8053 in Related Items below.
Crossflow Aluminum Radiators can be used with a stock S30 fan, or an electric fan ONLY if mounted with our 16-7059 Mounting Bracket. Use of standard electric fan tie kits (that "hang" the fan by inserting plastic "rods" through the radiator fins) with our cross flow aluminum radiators will void the warranty on the radiator.
