Description:
As any early Z-Car owner can likely confirm, broken studs and bolts are not fun to remove from aluminum parts. One of the best ways to prevent broken bolts is to replace hardware before it breaks during removal. This genuine, original equipment (OEM) bolt is used to hold the Intake Valve Timing Control Covers to the Front Timing Cover. Sold individually; see the list below for quantity and torque spec.
Installation Notes:
These bolts have a very low torque spec and specific order for both installation and removal. We recommend installing the bolts by hand first (but only until resistance is felt), then follow the factory torque spec and order using an inch-pound specific torque wrench. If you aren't sure of the installation order, or don't have access to a Factory Service Manual, click the links below for a diagram showing the proper order. Note that the installation order of the 07-09 VTC Solenoid bolts do not matter; however, the torque spec is the same.
- 05-06 350Z: 6 per side; 12 per car. Torque Spec: 87 - 112 in-lb. Diagram
- 07-09 350Z: 8 Left Side, 9 Right Side, 1 per VTC Solenoid; 19 per car. Torque Spec: 8 ft-lb (96 in-lb) Diagram.
- 09-19 370Z: 8 Left Side, 9 Right Side; 17 per car. Torque Spec: 8 ft-lb (96 in-lb) Diagram.
*2005 Models:
This bolt is only for 2005 models equipped with Rev-Up motors. See 14-1181 in Related Items below for the bolt for non Rev-Up engines.
