Description:
The second generation 300ZX was the first Z to change from a traditional distributor ignition to individual ignition coils, also known as coil packs. In a distributor type ignition, a single ignition coil is used to generate the spark for every cylinder, which is sent to the correct plug by the distributor. In Distributorless Ignition Systems (DIS), each coil sends its spark direct to the plug. If you are noticing backfiring or poor fuel economy, it is possible that one or more of your coils have started to go bad. Power loss, misfires, stalling, rough idle, and hard starts can indicate that one or more coils have completely failed. Genuine, original equipment (OEM) ignition coil packs such as these have proven themselves to be the best replacement option for the 90*-96 300ZX. Sold individually as a complete, ready to install assembly; 6 required per car.
