Description:
This Motorsport exclusive kit is for drivers who like the original lines of their ZX, but want some extra accent. Each piece of the kit adds a subtle yet sporty accent to the lower areas of your ZX without disturbing the original design. This is a full kit, including the front air dam, side skirts (see note below), rear skirt, and wing.
Bumper Note:
This kit retains both the front and rear bumpers. The front air dam replaces the original lower valance, while the rear skirt mounts below the rear bumper.
Image Notes:
The kit shown above is on a coupe. The 2+2 kit looks identical except that the side skirts are longer and the rear wing is made slightly differently to properly fit the 2+2 deck lid. Additionally, the original side skirts as shown in the first two images above have been upgraded to our new side skirt design shown in the third image above.
Rear Skirt Note:
The images on this page show the 81 Turbo/82-83 280ZX style rear skirt, where the exhaust exits on the Driver's side. Originally, these cars had exhaust that exited on the Driver's side (as shown above), while 79-81 non-turbo model exhaust exits on the passenger side. This kit includes the late style rear skirt as shown, which has the exhaust exit on the driver's side. Regardless of your year, if your exhaust exits on the Driver's side, and, your car is a 2+2 (4-seater) model, then this is the kit you will need. If your exhaust exits on the passenger side, choose one of the 79-81 non-turbo kits in Related Items. If your 79-81 Non Turbo has an exhaust that exits on the Driver's side, then it has been altered from original. This is fairly common.
Protective Coating:
This fiberglass item has a gel coating to protect the fiberglass itself from scratches. It is not a finish coat. Your paint professional will sand down the coating prior to final priming and painting. You will notice scratching in this surface, which is exactly what it was designed to do, to take any scratching that can occur in production, transport, storage, handling, and shipping, keeping the fiberglass from being damaged.
