Part #:14-1349
Price: $1.97
Includes:
  • (1) Half Shaft Nut

Description:
This genuine, original equipment (OEM) nut is used to hold the half shaft and u-joints to the differential and the inner flange of the wheel hub. These are the correct, slim 10mm nut needed for proper clearance on the half shaft flanges (standard thickness nuts should never be used on the half shafts!). They also ensure the correct thread protrusion once torqued; something standard thickness nuts will not allow. Sold individually; 4 required per axle flange.

Quantity Required:
  • (4) Half Shaft Flange, 70-78 w/ Any Differential (per flange; see note below*)
  • (4) Half Shaft Flange, 79-83 w/ R180 (per flange; 8 per car)
  • (4) Half Shaft Flange, 79-83 Non-Turbo w/ R200 Differential (per flange; 16 per car)

*74-78 Quantity Note:
All 74-78 R200 differentials will need a total of 16 of these nuts. For R180 differentials, please inspect your car to determine whether you have 4-bolt flanges at the differential end of your half shafts. Some late S30 R180 differentials had both inner and outer flanges like the 240Z version, while others have a yoke that connects directly to the u-joint instead (the same as the 280ZX R180). Additionally, differentials are often swapped between models, so the differential you have may not match your particular model.

280ZX Notes:
This nut is for models equipped with Half Shafts only. Not for use on models equipped with CV Axles. For ZX models with R180 differentials, fits outer end of Half Shaft only. Unfortunately, accurate information regarding which years and sub-models received which axle type is no longer readily available. From the records we have (including several versions of the Nissan microfiche and parts books), all R180 differentials originally came with Half Shafts, as did early R200 models. Non-turbo coupes were supposed to use Half Shafts throughout 280ZX production (to 1983). CV Axles were officially first put into use on turbo models starting at production month 12/80. 2+2 models show them first being used at production month 9/81 (R200 only). Despite this, evidence indicates that 2+2 models may have seen them as early as 1980 production year. As always, it is best to confirm on your car directly whether you have Half Shafts or CV Axles prior to ordering.
