Build your early L-series Z-Car engine with the same parts the professionals use. These High Performance Rod Bolt kits use 190,000 psi hardware for maximum strength. These fastener kits are not only the best option, they are also the only replacement option for early Z-Cars with 8mm rod bolts since Nissan no longer offers the smaller size hardware (and rod bolts should not be reused when possible, as they are torque-to-yield). Other than these bolts, the only option is to replace the rods entirely!

Nissan originally listed 8mm rod bolts for 70-71 models. We have seen some instances where later 240Z models had these same 8mm connecting rods installed from the factory. In addition, many early Z-Car owners have replaced their connecting rods with those found in later engines. We recommend measuring your rod bolts prior to ordering to confirm which size you need.
