Description: Most Z-Cars that require an Oxygen Sensor use a specialized mounting nut for installation. The O2 sensor mounts into the nut, which then threads into the exhaust manifold (or the rear elbow on the turbocharger). Sometimes the original nut can be reused, but more often than not we find them damaged from improper removal/installation or rusted beyond repair. This is the genuine, original equipment (OEM) mounting nut. Sold individually; 1 required per car.
Application Notes: 84-89 models used two different size nuts, depending on the year. Early models (84-85) normally require the larger inner diameter nut (14-3480) while later models use this smaller inner diameter nut. Some aftermarket sensors and aftermarket Air/Fuel sensors for performance gauges or tuning kits may require the larger inner diameter nut instead. Check your kit prior to ordering.
Header Notes: MSA 300ZX (Z31) headers for 86-89 models DO require one of the mounting nuts. Nissan used a non-standard size O2 sensor for late Z31 models, so we sized the port for these years to accept the nut to allow customization as needed (see above note). For non-MSA headers, we recommend visual inspection to determine whether you need the mounting nut or not.
