Warning! Improper Rocker Arm to Camshaft alignment caused by the improper lash pad thickness can destroy a new camshaft instantly. Proper set up of a performance camshaft is needed for the warranty coverage. If you or your mechanic/machinist have any questions at all, please call our sales technicians at (800)633-6331 prior to completing your purchase!
Lash Pad Kit, 70-83 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX
|Quantity in Basket:none|
The proper size (thickness) lash pads must be used in order to maintain proper valve geometry. See note below for determining the size you need. Includes 12 new lash pads.
Here are basic guidelines for what size of lash pads will be proper for our particular camshafts: For our 10-2001 & 10-2002 camshafts, you will generally need the .160" pads. For our 10-2003 & 10-2004 camshafts, you will generally need the .170" pads. For our 10-2005 & 10-2006 camshafts, you will generally need the .180" pads (see new .175" size notes below). This however depends exactly on how the valve job is being done. When your camshaft is assembled in the head and then tested, the mechanic will know if the chosen lash pad is proper, or if any will need to be exchanged for another size. If you do need any lash pads exchanged, just give us a call. The larger sizes are generally for custom racing engines and applications.
Schneider and the other cam manufacturers decided to have a .175" pad size added, which covers the very common area between .170" & .180" on medium to large lift camshafts. Ask your machinist about the size you should start with.
Application Note: Aftermarket spring retainers are required for any lash pads over .160" thickness. See related items below for our performance spring and retainer kit.
