Description: One glaring high-performance weakness of the L-series engines is the stock timing chain tensioner. Once you start increasing the performance of your Z engine, the stock timing chain, tensioner, and guide are being pushed beyond the limits they were designed for. The friction caused by the guides and chain tensioner, along with the strain on the timing chain itself, can ruin the strong & balanced power you spent time and money trying to create. To build a strong L-series engine, all of the parts must work together in stability, and must match each other according to the type of power output you are designing into the engine. This Performance Twin Idler Gear Kit corrects the weakness of the stock setup, by replacing the needle roller bearing and the twin sprocket, to reduce the timing chain friction and stabilizing valve timing. The RPM tolerance of the kit is an amazing 13,000 RPM. The slack side chain guide and tensioner will no longer be needed, as the twin gear does a better job at the same function. Cam spacers are no longer necessary as the kit is adjustable up to 4mm. Choose Anodized Red or Blue, or Polished for the head "slide" plate. The slide plate and sprocket are Chromoly.
