Description:
The classic of classics, this eternally popular Air Dam (Front Spoiler) improves the aerodynamic stance of your Z in style! It is designed to increase front end downforce, and is an ideal companion to most rear spoilers. This version of the Type-1 Air Dam features functional air ducts for directing air on the front brakes to cool them under heavy braking conditions. It is made of high quality fiberglass, and comes ready for prep and painting. It replaces the original lower valance on 70-8/74 240Z & 260Z models while keeping the turn signal openings, and installs using the original valance hardware (not included).

Brake Cooling Ducts:
This version of our Type-1 Front Air Dam features open ports designed for Brake Cooling Ducts. If you are not using cooling ducts, and do not want the look of open ports, see 50-1401 in Related Items for the Non-Ducted version of this spoiler (non-ducted also available in Carbon Fiber).

Protective Coating:
This fiberglass item has a gel coating to protect the fiberglass itself from scratches. It is not a finish coat. Your paint professional will sand down the coating prior to final priming and painting. You will notice scratching in this surface, which is exactly what it was designed to do, to take any scratching that can occur in production, transport, storage, handling, and shipping, keeping the fiberglass from being damaged. Model Restriction:
*Fits "early" 1974 260Z models produced from 9/73 through 8/74. If you have a 9/74 to 11/74, then you have the "late" 260Z and will need part 50-1404 (see Related Items).
