This is the "threaded" rubber bumper that the hood rests on when closed. If your car has a front end squeak when driving over bumps at low speeds (such as speed bumps) that you just can't seem to pinpoint, you may want to inspect these bumpers. It is common for these to compress a bit over time or even have entire "threads" break off, which leads to a loose fit against the core support (the hood bumper rubbing against the core support with insufficient tension can cause that squeaking sound). If the bumper is intact, a simple twist can solve the squeak. Sold individually, 2 required per car.
